The Mariposa Museum houses an extensive private archive of historical documents and photos in our collection. Our indexed family history files have been developed over many years.
Our vault is also the repository for Mariposa County historical documents including court records, naturalization records, assessor rolls, census records, and more.

Researchers have access to the holdings of the Mariposa Museum and History Center Archives by appointment only.

Museum members have access to free research in our private archive. The charge for non-members is $25 per hour. Please consider becoming a member. Membership rates and levels may be viewed here.

Appointments are scheduled following review of a submitted research request form which is necessary to enable us to gather all materials relevant to the researcher’s needs.

Please incorporate as much detail as possible, including names, dates and locations, to ensure that the request is clear.

If collections relevant to your research are available, you will be invited to schedule an onsite appointment.
