Service Description

Venues include: ~Presentation and running of a 150-year-old Stamp Mill ~Experience gold panning as a gold miner! The museum features four water trough stations for gold panning, offering the opportunity to find pyrite, garnet, quartz, mariposite, and gold. ~Docent-led inside exhibit tour This tour focuses on local history, the gold rush, life in the 1800s, and the presence of Native Americans. ~The “Woodland” Gift Store This rotation offers an educational experience spanning from the 18th century to the modern day, including the study of currency. Also provides time for the students to purchase souvenirs. Items such as rocks, books, jewelry, plush wildlife animals, and more. The Mariposa Museum is excited to work with the California State Mining and Mineral Museum to make your school field trip extra special! For full-day sessions, options are available to book at the California State Mining and Mineral Museum. Or A full-day session at the Mariposa Museum & History Center would include a six-rotation tour.
